CISAC General Assembly honored UACRR achievements for the first time in history

On 8 June, over 200 creators and collective society leaders attended CISAC General Assembly in Lisbon. Ukraine was represented by Dmytro Kostiuk, Interim Director General of UACCR, the single Ukrainian organization, which is the ordinary member of CISAC.

We are glad to inform you that for the first time during its CISAC membership, UACRR efforts were highly estimated by the main world authors confederation. Particularly agency’s achievements were honored on the CISAC Board of Directors, including managers of the world’s biggest CMOs. CISAC Director General Gadi Oron informed the Board about the positive tendencies in the UACRR’s work – the fact of licensing of the first in the agency’s history Eurovision Song Contest held in Kyiv was mentioned as the great success of UACRR.

CISAC regional director Mitko Chatalbashev congratulated UACRR with this experience. Also Mr. Chatalbashev emphasized the necessity of adoption of new law “On copyright and related rights” within the shortest possible time – this draft law was elaborated by Ukrainian and European experts. For his own part Mr. Chatalbashev on behalf of CISAC guaranteed full support of UACRR progressive efforts.

Such assurances of support and high estimation of UACRR’s work were received by Ukrainian delegation from representatives of such CMOs as PRS, ASCAP, APRA, SOCAN etc. Also CISAC President Jean-Michel Jarre despite his demanding agenda took the time to UACRR delegation.
